Celebrating Pedro Almodovar and Spanish cuisine

Pedro Almodovar has spent a lifetime telling stories about women.

His characters desire, grieve, forgive, and survive in unimaginably different and raw ways. His movies portrait a pletora of different women, from super conservative to extremely underground types, and interestingly the drama is never in their diverse ways of living, but in how they relate to each other across life.

This project was built to tell those stories through the food and gathering moments these women share.

The revenge gazpacho blushing red in the blender, the anxious feeling of a flan trembling on its release from the mold, the encounters over the classic vermouth poured at golden hour while confiding with friends.

Using Spanish cuisine and a powerful colour story to trace the emotional architecture of Almodóvar's films, we wish to portrait the primary, yet never simple, work of loving one another, no matter what.
